Saturn... returning, reckoning & decolonizing
Saturn as reclaiming our senses within structures and systems...
Saturno Regresso...
This week my Saturn Return reaches exactitude. (this is fine.)
I am functioning? I am having breakdowns between functioning. I am sleeping a lot. I am questioning what it really means to be a human in these times. I am realizing Saturn’s role in decolonization.
(to be transparent I wrote this weeks ago and felt called to finally share it once I painted saturn this week)
This time is contesting with the societally uplifted ideal of Saturn as the ruler, the father, the patriarch is part of our current’s culture’s co-opt for control.
This time is for reclaiming and reconciling structure/sense/Saturn in the area of life (house) and way we interact with it (sign) during this life’s focus (natal chart).
That doesn’t mean we’re cured of colonialism after this… but we’re one step closer to creating ripples of revolution beyond its limitations.
Decolonized Saturn is not the enemy or the internalized patriarch; he is the supportive structures, the foundational layers that allow us to go beyond the seen from a stable origin. It is time as a truth teller and liberation with the way of the seasons and cycles. It is honorable boundaries not oppressive borders.
Limitation of the sensory → liberation of sensuality.
Saturn helps us set the foundations for our senses to return to our structures & systems; hope beyond humanity and the (w)holistic way it should be...
This is a time of decolonizing discipline into devotion over and over again - not shaming or blaming ourselves for what's so ingrained, but claiming it as our responsibility to right (not alone).
To find new ways of holding space, fortifying our true foundations beneath the fear of assimilation, and sustaining supportive structures.
This is to know time as a layer of truth, not the whole truth. The real time - that follows seasons and cycles not made up by human and clock hands. To befriend and upend our choice and relationship within the real limitations of time.
This is the wisdom of the WORLD card in tarot, or INTERCONNECTION in my Embodied Ecosystems deck. We are here to relate to and embody this physical realm as a web of support not restriction.
Saturn in Pisces wants me (maybe us, as we're all feeling the final degrees of this placement) to unravel perfectionism and let there be space for possibility & desire to find presence and be brought into practice.
This is a time of remembering tradition as ancestral & Indigenous wisdom not colonial enforcement.
Decolonized Pisces is not “we are all the same” but we are all interwoven in this web despite our differences.
Decolonized Pisces is the untamed, untethered wilds of our spirits, souls and subconscious. The depths we cannot fully know but can embrace and allow for space. It is the indefinable parts that cannot be labeled contained but can be creative, regenerative, integrative... a resurrection of imagination embodied in our existence and collective reformation.
Neptune may have just moved into Aries but is still conjunct this placement. Neptune is the dissolution before revolution (Uranus). Neptune cannot be colonized but only co-opted; used for illusion instead of distribution.
Next to Saturn in sky and transit, we ask... is Saturn as solid as he seems? The last planet to be seen by the naked human eye... in sight do we trust or in our wholistic senses?
Is the shame sutured into our souls through religious structures the truth or a feeling of resistance to the repression of our senses & spiritual strength?
This gas giant, ringed with reverence for patterns, embodies a sense of solidity through not just matter but the relationship between space.
For what would we be without relativity...?
What would a system be without a reflection of a gravity and centrifugal force that creates a sense of containment, consistency...?
Around and around, we ride the rings in our minds and on this planet.
Yet I have been taught of a center that is not ego-centric but eco-centric.
Saturn in Pisces decolonized wants me to tend to the cycles of time with reverence, not restriction.
To shed the shame around pacing and return to being.
Arcing alongside the sun & moon's caress, not at the nonconsensual hands of a clock.

Saturn, I pray to you not as a god, not as that myth that is only one iteration of your archetype, but as my teacher in time-tending and cyclical belonging.
Reflect back to me the ways of this cosmos our planet is held within.
Grant me the gravity to be not a servant or savior of time... but a seeker, a shaper, a sensory sustainer.
