Presence in Pride
may your pride month be filled with presence, not pressure.
I know pride month can bring mixed feels for many including myself, and this year I’m practicing presence with the whole beautiful fluid revolutionary contradiction of it all.
May your pride month be filled with presence,
not pressure.
May pride month inspire presence with who you truly are,
not pressure to appease expectations or assumptions.
May pride month bring presence to uplifting and listening to queer voices,
not pressure to always know what to say or do.
May pride month bring presence and reassurance to the part of you that wants to belong and be included,
not pressure to prove it.
May pride month bring presence to the duality of joy and grief within the queer community and beyond,
not pressure to be or feel a certain way.
May pride month remind us of the ever-present interconnectedness of all movements for liberation,
not pressure of false competition between movement all fighting to end related oppression.
May pride month inspire presence with the realm of possibility and imagination,
not pressure to fit neatly into any boxes or binaries.
May pride month breed presence, remembrance, and reverence to histories told and untold,
not pressure to only look forward.
May pride month be presence with the whole from your personal center-point,
not pressure to focus on only one or the other.
I hope that your pride month is driven towards liberation, safety, and care for you & yours & all the world.
