My heart goes out to the people of LA & Southern CA affected by the wildfires. ❤️🔥
I pray for elemental balance (as Xenia of Myths of Creation put it) for the land and home of so many to recover. I pray for right redistribution of resources. I pray for refuge and care for everyone displaced.
If you have the capacity to share, the means to donate, and the ability to pray… here are some families & organizations who need our support:
And PLEASE also take care of yourself during this time of witnessing and information overload!
Showing up depleted is not an act of solidarity but a symptom of the system.
You’re always welcome to my free meditations & resources here.
I am also forwarding 25% of proceeds from my now-on-sale Lunar Mindfulness wall poster/calendar for 2025 to Mutual Aid LA.
On Creating & Keeping:
It’s strange to be an artist in the age of capitalism, mass surveillance, social media as a primary means of connection, AI theft and so many unknowns…
Art is for everyone, yet it is also my livelihood, and it is always at risk when it is public on the internet. I try not to be paranoid about this, but it’s true…
I like to share a lot of my art freely, as if you were passing by me sketching in a coffee shop or visiting my studio.
I like to form my work into purchasable goods to stay with you in your home.
AND I like to create some of my art in secret, sharing it only with my closest patrons & supporters who feel like a trusted sort of inner circle - who understand that I do this for more than just a living, but also that I need help to sustain and pay myself. Sort of like a gallery fee of sorts? I try to keep it low since I get it
I am working on transferring my portfolio from IG back to my website - to live as a free gallery apart from my offerings & art for sale.
And while putting some of my art behind a paywall feels weird, it also feels safest for the things I don’t want to share publicly yet for one reason or another.
So this week my personal painting & poem is for my paid subscribers only, and it also lives on my Rooted Reminders Patreon in case you’re a paid member there alternatively.
