Pisces Season Rooted Reminder... 💧❄️🌊
"What feels insignificant... is inspired by interconnection..."
I have a feeling this statement might not make sense right away.
And that's okay - that's part of what Pisces season is about - sitting with the unknowns and excepting the fogginess. Letting things sink in and deepen with time. Letting it integrate into your senses and subconscious...
The intention with this Rooted Reminder for Pisces season (our final sign of the zodiac, made of mutable water, ruled by Neptune and traditionally Jupiter...) is to let things be fluid. To let what's unclear be included.
Our intentions are one thing, but our inspiration might be more important right now. What we dream of, what truly inspires and drives us... that is where the magic & potential for change is. That is where we play our part in the interconnected web of life that feels so strung out right now.
In such times of dissolution, it's easy and normal to be filled with doubts, walls of defense and discomfort... yet this season invites us to soften into surrender - trusting in what supports our form and we change in fluidity - there is always gravity, something to land upon, someone to lean on... but it requires we honor the state we're in first.
What if our actions and ways of being were inspired (spiritually influenced, subconsciously driven) by the interwoven web around us? Led and guided by more than just ourselves?
What feels small, insignificant, not enough right now in (y)our actions, intentions, hopes and dreams... is actually exactly what we need to believe in and follow with trust.
Look deep into what, who or why it feels not enough. Reflect on why your smallness in the grand scheme of things is not a weakness but actually a gift - just as the single raindrop fills the vast basin that becomes a lake, or the droplet from your faucet fills you cup and quenches your whole body... each one plays a role - and when we look at the whole we are held in the promise that we are important, even if our individuality may seem insignificant.
Well in this age of hyper-individualism, we must dissolve the self a bit. And this doesn't mean we are 'just another droplet', the exact same as all the others. This doesn't mean that our unique, personal needs and desires are erased or forgotten. This is the balancing that must be remembered within such a watery season. When you feel too ephemeral remember the parts of you that are physical.
I let the water paint for me during parts of this creation. I let it pool up and flow - washing away the lines I was trying to define, the realism I was letting fall out of reach. I played with the paper and let the droplets flow and paint their way like rivers across the page. I guided them with my brush. I let there be space. I let it be unplanned, imprecise, just present. I tried to embody the whole river as I drew just a droplet of it. I let it hold the whole within it.
This painting is not my usual graphic & clear statement style - a standard I typically hold myself to. Trained as an illustrator, I was taught that the visual message should be clear - my role is to translate and communicate, so there is usually a defined interpretation that I'm trying to get across.
And yet, illustrator is just one of my roles. I'm also just an artist, a painter, a writer, a mystic medium... so the intention here is not a clear message, but rather a feeling, a vision open for interpretation... in hopes that it might spark some imagination.
I'm practicing letting myself feel safe in abstract moments too. I'm practicing allowing this to be enough - that it has just as much value as the decipherable.
I hope this brings you some feeling of support too.
