Ground into Now
When the sun & moon meet in the cardinal water sign of cancer, the heart swells and ripples at our physical, personal center and out beyond...
Center is not a fixed space or constant - it is a choice to return to again and again.
What is center? I think of heart, of clarity, of truth, spaciousness, the paradox of being separate that asks us to surrender to wholeness.
Center can only be sensed - we cannot think our way to center. We cannot analyze our way to center. We cannot other or judge our way to center. We open to center - we include to center. Center = wholeness of non-duality, non-separation: total fluidity.
It's the thing I keep coming back to when I feel despair, when the wells of my heart pour over from grief... I come back to feeling as a strength.
Can grief be a gateway? Can hope be found in the holes that are part of the whole?
Notice the Cycles
All I know for sure is that nothing is certain right now - and it shows in the waves of the world and the ungrounded feelings of these times.
All I know is that when I visit the water it shows me the way;
to give into gravity, to flow, be tidal, be fluid and find support in changing forms…
It feels abstract to talk about but when I look at a body of water - be it a lake irl, a river on my screen, the rain of my shower, a glass of water - I’m reminded of this same potential within me.
It’s all a reflection - and this dark moon phase is our monthly pause from it to rest in the fertile void of not knowing… to deepen into something wholly different than we are used to.
I’m practicing finding home here too - in the womb of the wild waters and Earth.
Awaken to Aligned Action
It's Land Back day in the so-called United States and our new moon in Cancer is tomorrow. Land Back means deprivatizing public lands so that stewards are not separate from place. It's reclaiming the true history of this land rather than celebrating its origins of control and harm.
I believe in interdependence not the separatism that independence promotes.
Here are some articles by organizations that I find awakening and supportive:
This Slow Factory article speaks on this day poignantly. This organization in general is such a good resource.
I recently found that Intersectional Environmentalist has a database to help you find local orgs doing work you align with!
I also love this podcast by IE which focuses on possibility & change: The Joy Report is a podcast dedicated to sharing stories about climate solutions and environmental justice grounded in intersectionality and optimism.
Also I'm excited to be adding to one of my own offerings that helps individuals within the interdependent whole;
I recently added 3 new modules to the Cyclical Mindfulness course hub:
printable altar cards with practice visual cues
an alternative acronym & visual for practicing with!
a reminders section with its first advice lesson: start & stop anywhere
The beauty of this course is that it grows a with you, and I plan to add things as I grow too.

Reflect & Respond Prompts
Here are some invitational prompts for you to respond to & reflect on as you wish - in your own journal or notebook, and/or share, discuss, ask in our free Cyclical Community's Journaling Prompt & Reflection Circle here. :)
What does center feel like to you?
What themes of thought are orbiting around you?
What helps you come back to your sense of ground?
What support can you sense beyond the seen?
Can you ask that support to help hold some of your confusion, overwhelm, fear or grief?
Where/how can you feel more connected to fluid forms?
Gratefully connected,
