a revolution for wholistic (menstrual+) cycle awareness
the resources our mothers weren't given through menstruation to menopause
I think cycle tracking is important for everyone, seriously. I say this and people don’t always understand, but when I say cycle tracking - menstrual cycles are a part of it, but not the whole.
But first I do want to talk about the lifeblood cycle that is the reason we are all here today, and that flows within each of our very veins.
…
I can't tell you how many times I've vended events where middle-aged women have visited my booth said to me after looking through Cycles Journal, "I wish this journal existed when I was younger and still had a period".
There is a glimmer of grief in their eyes, but also honest hope and often shared sentiments of gratitude about how glad they are the current and next generations have resources like this.
Our parents’, grandparents’ and many generation before didn't have the same access to resources for body literacy and menstrual cycle awareness as we do today.
Now more than ever, as oppressive systems try to take reproductive rights from us again,
and as they find toxic heavy metals in tampons (even organic ones),
it's time to ensure we are equipping ourselves and those we love with what they can never take from us: the knowledge and wisdom that comes through self-awareness, reflection and shared experience and resources.
As we ally with trusted practitioners, we must honor the value of each one of our experiences.
For who will keep our own records, the people’s research for the un(der)funded studies, but ourselves?
Who will help share the lessons we've learned and what we've come to understand but one another?
When I track my cycles I am participating in the re-evolution of awareness & advocacy for this body and all bodies who are the reason we exist today.
And in reclaiming our wholeness and the endless possibility of creation including and beyond childbearing,
May we recognize that every part of us deserves to be seen and held and acknowledged on the page.
May we not be reduced, but also be wise and vocal about centering uterine health and reproductive care. May we come to know these essential parts well as teachers not burdens.
And may we acknowledge that womb healing and wholistic cycle tracking is not just about an organ, but an entire being.
So I say to these women who greet me as if it's too late, that I understand what they mean specifically… but that it's never too late to get to know the whole of your body and being.
And as the next generation, it is my mission to help spread this tool far and wide as an indie-publication can go… that I know can benefit all people who want to honor their cycles and experiences, be it menstrual, menopausal, hormonal, mental or more.
Cycles Journal is a personal empowerment & awareness tool for self-education towards collective liberation. It’s an offline, grounding tool for reflection & remembrance.
This journal is lunar-centric and focused on but is not limited to menstrual, mental and habitual health.
I designed Cycles Journal to intentionally help us attune to the lunar cycles as an anchor, so that it can help every body find patterns.
I designed it to be able to hold space for menstruators first, and yet also anyone who does not bleed or have a menstrual cycle for any reason, because it is just a layer yet not a requirement to lunar cycle tracking.
It thrills me to know that this revolution of embodied self-awareness is growing.
For the generations that will bear next generations, in utero and/or in endless other forms of creation.
Let's build the future our grandmothers want(ed) for us, one womben-descendant at a time.
So if you have a menstrual cycle, you definitely need to get on this grounded, paper tracking thing (and share it with everyone you know)
And if you don’t have a menstrual cycle, you still deserve a tool that helps you honor your own pace and body’s other cycles alongside the moon & sun. Not sure if it’s for you though? Try it for just $10 or less right now to see if it makes a difference in your life~
